compressing documents is not possible all the times and if we use second method we need to upload the file first which consumes our time a lot.In this case email service would not work. Smartphone Sales Overtake PC sales for the First Time

If you bought a smartphone in 2011 and didn’t buy a PC ?? 

Then you were part of a history-making trend.

For the first year ever, total PC sales around the world were outpaced by total smartphone sales, in units at least, according to data released Friday by market analyst firm Canalsys. Nearly 488 million smartphones were shipped, compared to just (just!) 415 million PCs.

It mean PCs are dead. The global PC market grew 15% in 2011, Canalsys says — almost entirely because of the 274% increase in tablet sales,

Split keyboard on iPad even sweeter

I’m a huge fan of the split keyboard that was added to the iPad on iOS 5. I have to credit a friend with predicting this addition several months before WWDC actually, he specifically said “a split keyboard on the iPad would make me so happy.”

He got his wish and now I use it all the time to type with my thumbs in vertical mode. It makes it a ton easier to hold the iPad in two hands and still jot out short messages.

Well, in typical Apple fashion, it has managed to sneak in a subtle and invisible addition to the split keyboard that makes it even cooler. It has hidden duplicate buttons invisibly along each end of the split, making it possible to ‘reach over’ the gap to grab a key on the other side without having to use the opposite hand.

Facebook: More Addictive Than Tobacco and Alcohol?

Do you ever feel like you're addicted to Facebook? It might not be in your head. A new study from the University of Chicago has found that Facebook can be more addictive than alcohol or tobacco, the Guardian has reported.

Researchers doled out BlackBerry's to 205 people ages 18-25 and sent them into the wild to monitor their appetites for social media. Participants received messages from the researchers seven times over 14 hours, asking them if they desired to look at Facebook or Twitter and if so, to note the strength and length of that urge and whether or not it conflicted with other yearnings. From 10,558 responses, there were 7,827 such urges reported by the subjects.

The study found that though the urges for sleep and sex are stronger, people are willing to forgo many cravings in order to check their social profiles.

25,000 Aakash tablets booked by Mumbai University

After almost a week of distress, things seem to be looking up for India's maiden attempt at low-cost computing. Reports now confirm that the tablet still has many takers. According to The Economic Times , the Mumbai University has booked for almost 25,000 units of the Aakash tablet, with each tablet roughly costing around Rs.1,138. The university claims to have received these requests from over 90 colleges and departments that fall under the university's jurisdiction. That's not all. Reports also confirm that several requests have also been coming across from relatively far-flung places, like Alibaug, bearing testimony to the fact that, despite glitches and shortcomings, the tablet's still managing to stir the masses. Reportedly, Mumbai's Vivek College, located in suburban Goregaon has received the highest number of applications from its students, some 2,262 of them.
