The interesting revolution in internet usage through Mobile devices made it as target of all smart phone vendors to establish their market in India. Came across this really interesting presentation about the growth of mobile internet in India. 

Three factoids that strike me as being interesting:

1. 71% of India’s population uses mobile phones – that is 858,370,000 individuals!

2. While there are so many mobile phones, internet penetration is still very low – as low as 8%.

3. 59% of India’s internet users only ever access the internet via mobile devices.

Internet Usage Via Mobile Devices Doubled In The Past Few Years - Nokia Takes The Lead

People are more comfortable using internet at their own convenience, which means being in the easiest of positions and what more can be an easier way to access internet than through your very own mobile device? Even the statistics support this statement, which is now a fact. According to a report by Web analytics firm, StatCounter, global internet access through mobile devices has almost doubled in the past few years since 2009. The trend is on the rise and it is the best news both telecom companies and mobiles manufacturers want to hear. They know for sure their targets are being achieved and increasing their customer base.

However, in this report, tablets are not accounted for. The report further elaborates that the total percentage of global browsing on devices like mobile phones has grown from 4.3% to 8.5% since January 2011. It seems like the craze for smartphones and iPads have generated a lot for internet accessibility. Mobile manufacturers like NOKIA , Apple, and SAMSUNG are making hay in all this sunshine, and Nokia is doing it more than Apple and Samsung. According to the statistics, Nokia is ahead in mobile vendors on the global scale with 38% of the market share, Apple is almost 10 points down, with 29%, and Samsung is at 15% of the market share, but ahead of RIM.

Apple May Partner With Existing Cable Operators For iTV

Apple's iTV ventures has aroused a lot of speculation from users and investors alike. While Apple hasn't officially given away much of the details, a number of analysts have presented all the options that Apple may avail in going forward with this venture. Recently, Peter Misek, a Wall Street analyst with Jefferies provided a kind of 'what is' analysts for Apple's iTV ventures. Misek presents the many different options that Apple may avail in getting it's content for iTV.

The first option, Misek said, could be that Apple partners with existing cable operators and carriers. In this way, Apple brings to iTV all the content that is being provided by other content providers, but at the same time Apple has the advantage of it’s content directly from iTunes. Moreover, Apple can revamp the interface and embed it deep into it’s own ecosystem. This will definitely make Apple’s iTV services far better than the current market competitors. This, according to Misek, is the most likely route that Apple is going to take.

compressing documents is not possible all the times and if we use second method we need to upload the file first which consumes our time a lot.In this case email service would not work. Is there any way to send a bigger file.Yes but you need to do it in tricky manner. You may not be able to attach larger files to an email. But there are various ways by which you can share files with your friends on the internet.

Smartphone Sales Overtake PC sales for the First Time

If you bought a smartphone in 2011 and didn’t buy a PC ?? 

Then you were part of a history-making trend.

For the first year ever, total PC sales around the world were outpaced by total smartphone sales, in units at least, according to data released Friday by market analyst firm Canalsys. Nearly 488 million smartphones were shipped, compared to just (just!) 415 million PCs.

It mean PCs are dead. The global PC market grew 15% in 2011, Canalsys says — almost entirely because of the 274% increase in tablet sales,

Split keyboard on iPad even sweeter

I’m a huge fan of the split keyboard that was added to the iPad on iOS 5. I have to credit a friend with predicting this addition several months before WWDC actually, he specifically said “a split keyboard on the iPad would make me so happy.”

He got his wish and now I use it all the time to type with my thumbs in vertical mode. It makes it a ton easier to hold the iPad in two hands and still jot out short messages.

Well, in typical Apple fashion, it has managed to sneak in a subtle and invisible addition to the split keyboard that makes it even cooler. It has hidden duplicate buttons invisibly along each end of the split, making it possible to ‘reach over’ the gap to grab a key on the other side without having to use the opposite hand.
