Two of the biggest companies to have showcased upcoming devices that will be running Windows Phone 8 are HTC and Nokia. And, according to Neowin, there might be a legal war between them. According to unnamed sources, Nokia might be preparing to file a lawsuit against HTC because of the similarities in design between the HTC Windows Phone 8X and the Nokia Lumia 820.
The original report by PC-Tablet.com says, “The reports are saying Nokia is preparing to get HTC 8X banned in various parts of the world from going on sale when it will launch in November. Nokia has said in reports that the front-face of HTC 8X looks identically same as of the Lumia 820 followed by side-curves of the phone body.” This could be problematic for all parties involved, as Microsoft probably won’t let the launch of its new entry into the smartphone operating system market get screwed up because of in-fighting between brands selling the same OS on different hardware.
Recently, HTC had released some pictures taken with the camera of the HTC Windows Phone 8X. The HTC Windows Phone 8X will include an 8 megapixel camera, along with an aperture of f/2.0 at 28mm, a backlight illuminated sensor and a dedicated chip for image processing.
The phone, originally titled the HTC Accord, seems to be running Windows 7.x in the pictures that were leaked earlier this year on Twitter, but there are speculations that the screenshot is of a much earlier render. The HTC Accord was first seen in June, along with three other phones. The Accord was seen along with phones named Zenith and Rio. The Accord is the middle child of the trio, with a screen size of 4.3 inches and a 720p Super LCD 2 display. Also onboard is a 1080p capable 8MP camera sensor, 42Mbps HSPA+ capabilities, NFC support and a whole gig of RAM. It is also rumoured that it may come with an MSM8260A SoC onboard.
The Lumia 820 was announced during Nokia’s recent press event. The Lumia 820 comes with the Smart Shoot feature. With one click, the camera takes a whole series of photos and merges it into one. Like the Lumia 920, the 820 comes with City Lens, too. The feature reveals to you the shops, restaurants and businesses in your vicinity. Users can then read reviews, book a table and/or find the quickest route. The camera features of the Lumia 820 include Touch focus, Landscape orientation, Geo-tagging, Auto and manual white balance, Still image editor, Lenses applications and True 16:9 sensor
The Lumia 820 will get all the exclusive apps as the Lumia 920. The wireless charging feature is optional. It also offers users 7GB free SkyDrive storage Here's a quick look at the specifications of the Lumia 820:
