Android Market Has Reached 400000 Applications

The Android Market has reached 400.000 applications, according to application analysis firm Distimo report.

While the number of applications in the Apple App Store in the same period, based on the data from 148Apps.biz, reaching 540,000 applications. The number of Android apps in the Android Market is still less if compared with the number of apps in the Apple App Store. But the gap between them is narrowing.
Distimo recorded that the growth rate of application in the Android is stil slightly slower than the Apple App Store. To reach 400.00, Android Market took two months longer. For the time being, two-thirds of the number of application in the Android Market is a free application. The number of free applications and “freemium” is growth factors based on Distimo.

Up to now, the number of Android application developers have already reached 100.000 developers. So that, if it divided equally, each of them released 4 applications.
On the other hand, Windows Phone has reached 50000 applications untill the end of 2011. The platform is indeed didn’t have much time to grow yet.
